Wedding Cards

A few years ago I put these cards together from a 'Close to My Heart' card making kit.  I didn't know what I would do with them but just kept them around until I found the right project.  My mom is invited to a lot of weddings and asked me to make her some wedding cards for her birthday.  So I took these cards, added a few elements and stamped them.  I think they turned out just right.

On the back of all my cards I stamp a recycle sign with wording that says, "Hand stamped by me, recycled by you".  I love this stamp from Stampin' Up.  It is retired but oh so cute.  Lets you know it was handmade but then gives you a little smile.

I didn't like the backside of the brads showing on the inside of the cards so I covered them with paper.

These cards had butterfly pictures in the center of the card.  I removed the pictures and added design from the Stampin' Up Lattice Sizzix Die.  I am loving that Die.  It can give a classy touch to any project.

For this card I cut the Lattice Die out of clear velum.  I don't like to attach velum with tape because you can always see it.  So I usually use metal brads to attach it.

Easter basket for Teachers

These are the Easter gifts I made for my kids' teachers and bus driver.

I used the Stampin' Up! basket sizzix's die.  Inside I put some candy bars and clips covered in cute paper.

Jackson's Valentines

This year I saw a super cute owl on one of my favorite stamp blogs.  The link is here.  I decided to make something similar for Jackson's 1st grade class for Valentine's Day.  We stuck them onto peppermint patties and on the back we wrote who they were for.  They were adorable and a lot of fun to make.

Homemade Sugar Scrub

I've been looking for Valentines Day idea's for the kids teachers and hit on a really cute project.  Well several, but that's for another day.  My latest obsession is homemade sugar scrubs.  I just typed it into google and came up with a ton of different ways to make it.  This is the link to the first one I used.  I've since gotten some other ingredients and will be playing with them to make my own recipes.  I've found that grapeseed oil worked the best.  I put a small wooden spoon with the jars.  You should use a spoon to get the scrub out of the jar.  That way less bacteria will get in the scrub and it will last longer sitting on you countertop.
